Paper Trail: Protecting your Family and Property in a Shifting Legal Landscape

After the Supreme Court’s stunning decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health, everyone has been wondering what rights are next on the chopping block. With Justice Thomas’ concurrence calling into question the right to contraceptive use, private sexual activity, and same-sex marriage, many states have taken the opportunity to aggressively pursue their anti-trans agendas. In this session we’ll discuss some of the legal steps anyone can take to help preserve their crucial rights in an uncertain future, should the worst come to pass. Participants will learn about the kinds of legal documents they can prepare today, such as wills, durable power of attorney, medical directives, and marital property agreements—and their limitations.

Length: 1 Hour
